Rangifer tarandus

Reindeer are smaller than caribou with shorter legs and a lighter color.  Reindeers have a white belly, tail and rump with a thin brown coat in the summer and a thicker gray coat in the winter. Male Reindeer have a white mane.  Both male and female Reindeer grow antlers, males having the larger antlers. Reindeer are about 4 ft tall at the shoulder and  about 6 ft long , male Reindeer weigh around 211 lbs. and female Reindeer weigh around 175 lbs.
