Description: Dall sheep males (called rams) average close to 300 pounds, while females (called ewes) are closer to 150 pounds.  They can live up to 15 years in captivity, with shorter lives in the wild.  Both rams and ewes have horns.  Their horns are the largest all ruminants in relation to body size.  Yearling rams have smaller, straight horns that eventually grow to full curls by age eight.  When horns reach their full curl, they are a symbol of status among sheep.  Horns are not shed, but remain on the animal throughout life.   In some cases, the horns may be broken off and never grow back to normal size.  The horns will stop growing during winter months, leaving rings called annuli.  These rings can be used to determine the age of the sheep.

TESTIMONIALS

My husband and I were on our Honeymoon in the Caribbean when I thought it would be nice to surprise him with a day of sport fishing, I used the computer in the hotel lobby to look up charter fishing in the area, it was tough going until I found Destinationwild.com, you had enough listings that I was able to find a charter captain that would take us out that day. My husband was thrilled, the fishing was incredible and now even I'm hooked. Were arranging to head down to Florida next year and I'm sure well be using your site to line up another great time, Thanks for making it easy. Ill spread the good word.                               Linda Kaslow  Flint,Michigan  View More Testimonials>>>
