Lake of the Woods is a large, pristine body of water with many bays, 65,000 miles of shoreline, 14,000 islands. Rated "world-class" walleye and sauger fishing, trophy northern pike in Zippel Bay, excellent smallmouth bass and perch abound. Fish spring or fall in shallow water, July and August on rock reefs or winter angling in Zippel Bay area. Enjoy our popular charter boat walleye fishing package with comfortable guided 30' boats. We offer down rigging, jigging, and conventional hook and line fishing. 16' Lund boats and new motors are available for rent. We have a concrete ramp, dock space, fish cleaning and freezing service, gas, oil, bait, tackle and licenses.
Wildlife abounds in the one-million acre wilderness surrounding Zippel Bay. Take a hike through the Zippel Bay State Park just minutes from our Resort. See our famous white pelicans, bald eagles, loons, osprey, deer, mink, a variety of ducks, black bear and, occasionally, the elusive grey wolf! Bird-watching is spectacular in this area in the spring and summer months.
Enjoy Zippel Bay State Park where you will find Sugar Sand Beach for swimming and a nice picnic area. If you choose to stay in camp, relax on our floating gazebo and swimming platform. Kids will enjoy the canoes, kayaks, paddleboats which are free with cabin rental, and our game room and playground equipment, Lake of the Woods Casino, is a short drive from our resort.In the winter months, groomed snowmobile and cross-country ski trails are nearby in 3,000 acre Zippel Bay State Park and beyond. We offer a 4-bedroom natural log home for snowmobiles adjacent to Beltrami State Forest.
